Soap and Glory "The Perfect Ten" Limited Edition Eyeshadow Palette Review

Happy December Ladies!

It blows my mind that it's already December. This year seriously flew by so quickly...and so much has changed for me in my personal life this past year. It's crazy. Anyway I haven't done a review in a while so I decided to review a product that is on a lot of people's wish lists for this Christmas season.

I love Soap and Glory as a whole, their brand is awesome and I am absolutely obsessed with their body lotions. They have such amazing smelling body lotions that make your skin as smooth as butter. The downside of the brand is that it used to be a little hard to find, as it was only sold at stores like Sephora or online. Recently select Walgreens stores started selling Soap and Glory brand products, so of course I went online and searched the closest Walgreens store to me to check out their entire display.

Soap and Glory recently came out with "The Perfect Ten" (limited edition) eyeshadow palette. When I saw this palette I was eager to try it because I loved all of their other products so much. I actually got it as a gift for my birthday and was so excited to receive something I had been wanting to try so badly. The Perfect Ten palette retails for $20.00. It's (obviously) a 10 pan eyeshadow palette, which is perfect for an everyday daytime nude look, or a sexy smokey eye. (The names of the individual shadows are super cute too- Moon Mist, Minky, Nudecomer, Copper, Toasty, Damsel, Cream Soda, Choccy, Plumtious, and Smoulder.)

The packaging was cute, and I love that they included the shades on the back to show you what you were getting. It has a magnetic closure also, and I love that because it won't just fly open inside my purse, and it makes it harder for little fingers (AKA my kids) to open and destroy it. This palette has a good range of shades. I love the first white shade for my brow bone, and the darker shades are perfect for your outer corner.

I have to be honest, the first time I tried this palette, I wasn't as impressed as I was hoping I'd be. The double-sided brush is not good at all (which I wasn't expecting it to be, I rarely use the brushes that palettes come with). The matte shades were pretty chalky which caused a lot of fallout and the palette as a whole wasn't as pigmented as I was hoping it would be.

Not to be defeated (lol), I tried it again another day. This time I used a primer, different brushes, and a setting spray. Each time before I dipped my brush in the shadow, I sprayed the brush with NYX matte finish setting spray (black bottle). It made the shades much more pigmented and easier to work with. I was much more impressed this time.

The Perfect Ten wasn't perfect in my opinion, but it wasn't horrible. I don't reach for it everyday but I do enjoy using it once in a while. I like the shimmer shades the best, as they're the easiest to work with. My biggest tip for getting the most out of this palette would be to make sure you use a good eye primer and setting spray on your brushes. Trust me, it will make a world of difference.

Have you tried out this palette or any other Soap and Glory products? Let me know what your opinion on them is in the comments below!
